Velveteen Dream To Matt Riddle: ‘Three Letters Don’t Make You Legitimate’

Following the announcement that they’ll face off for the North American Championship at NXT TakeOver: New York, Velveteen Dream has fired the first shot in the direction of his future opponent Matt Riddle.

These two men are considered to be amongst the best talents NXT has to offer in the modern era, and they’ve been proving that ever since they stepped foot through the door of WWE. Now, they’ll get the chance to square off in what should be one of the biggest TakeOver events of all time.

Ironically enough the title itself doesn’t seem to be the main focus of this match whatsoever, as the intrigue instead seems to rest in what the actual match itself will look like.

If you’ve been following him for long enough then you’ll be well aware of the fact that Velveteen Dream doesn’t seem to care about who he annoys courtesy of his antics on social media. He’s a constant stream of entertainment, especially on Twitter, and we can’t see that ending anytime soon.

It’s easy to say that this is going to be a show stealer in NYC during WrestleMania weekend, but there’s going to be a lot of pressure on the shoulders of these two guys now. Given the contrast in their styles this could wind up being one of NXT’s greatest rivalries – but there’s no guarantee of that.

All we can do is sit back and watch the magic unfold before our very eyes between now and TakeOver: New York.
