How Serious AJ Styles Was About Leaving WWE For AEW

AJ Styles is not leaving WWE. He re-signed a WWE contract and made the announcement official along with letting everyone see a picture of his adorable new puppy.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned this news in the latest issue. Along with the report, Dave Meltzer also included a huge hint about AJ Styles’ actual intentions when it came to leaving WWE.

He had expressed little serious interest in AEW and while obviously they would have liked to have him, and he’s friends with the Young Bucks, at no point did anyone ever talk seriously about the idea he’d be coming in.

AJ Styles is currently booked in a WrestleMania match that could headline the show of shows. He is slated to face Randy Orton in a match that is 100% deserving of such a big stage. This confidence in AJ Styles to book such a high-profile Mania match speaks volumes on WWE’s part.

The company obviously had enough faith in AJ Styles to put him in a big WrestleMania match even if his contract wasn’t actually signed yet. Now we can only assume that Styles will remain a focal point on the top of the card for whichever main roster brand he continues with after the show of shows.
