EC3 was among the six Superstars who received main roster call-ups as part of Vince McMahon’s attempt to freshen up the roster. Lars Sullivan didn’t work out as WWE first intended, but EC3 hasn’t been seen much either.
The former Impact World Champion got a short chance to interact with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville backstage before WWE Fastlane and it was a very entertaining exchange. However, that seems to be the most we’ve seen of EC3 recently.
While speaking to the Gorilla Position, EC3 explained his mindset and the pressure on him after his WWE main roster jump. He isn’t afraid to fail and seems to embrace the fear as he prepares himself for his next opportunity.
“To stand out I have to be the best me possible. The thing about being me is that there is only one me. So if I’m the absolute best me then I’ll stand out. I have faith, courage, dare to be bold in a sense — not afraid to fail which is a big thing.”
“Because with the pressure when the light’s hot when the stage is the brightest there’s anxiety, there’s always performance anxiety. You’re always worried, but to let go of that fear and find yourself in what you’re doing and doing it to the best of your ability and having faith and confidence in that I think it pans out pretty well, hopefully it will. Yeah.”
EC3 said the one thing about life and wrestling is that “you can only be you,” which is both a simple and a deep statement at the same time. Perhaps WWE will figure out that they can put a microphone in EC3’s hand and he is gold with promos, but until that day comes he will remain ready for that opportunity in WWE.
