Ronda Rousey turned heel and brought up how the fans cheered while she was getting beat down at Survivor Series. This was genuine frustration from Rousey and she was actually upset in a way. Now it looks like Rousey is set for a WWE exit following WrestleMania and we’re not sure how long she will be gone.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that it’s not clear when she will be back, if ever. Because if the fans hadn’t turned on Ronda Rousey it would be a much different story. After all, she was having so much fun until the fans started to boo her.
“It may be a lot longer than [SummerSlam]. She might never come back. I expect that she will just because — I tell you what… If the fans hadn’t turned on her, 100% she would [come back] now, you know, I wouldn’t be so sure.”
“I think that she still will, but it’s a different thing. You remember the whole thing like, ‘Oh man these wrestling fans are so much better than MMA fans,’ you know blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and now I’m sure she’s not saying that.”
Ronda Rousey can make her own decision in this regard so there is no real way to determine how long she will actually be out of action. WrestleMania could end for Rousey looking up at the lights or slapping the mat in a submission hold.
This might be a proper send-off, but WWE could always write a reason for her to come back. The fact that her last scheduled date with WWE is the RAW after WrestleMania could be a telling sign that the clock is ticking down for the Baddest Woman On The Planet and WWE.
