There are quite a few ways to get an angle over or draw attention to yourself. If you are a WWE Superstar and have the ability to send out a tweet and make everyone talk about it, then why wouldn’t you?

Dave Meltzer brought up this recent trend of working shoot promos online during Wrestling Observer Radio. Apparently, this is something that will continue as Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey have opened the floodgates.

“Everyone on the internet who has a program is doing that. That stuff is now — it went from just Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch and then Charlotte Flair joined in and now it’s everyone across the board. The internet is for shooting fake angles. Dana Brooke was doing that stuff today, Tamina, um… maybe that means that I’m actually doing angles with these people and it’s all a work, ya ever think about that?!”

It is one thing when a Superstar cuts an online promo on someone who they are going to wrestle. It is another thing completely when you take fire at Dave Meltzer as Nia Jax did. You also have someone like Lana who is actually upset, but apparently, she is using social media to vent and get a bunch of things off of her chest.

Either way, it looks like WWE Superstars are going to continue using social media to make fans wonder if they are really upset about things.

Thanks to Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, some of those promos might include content that you can’t get away with on a TV-PG television show.
