Roman Reigns’ return to the WWE Universe was a very exciting moment, but now it is back to business for The Big Dog. With WrestleMania right around the corner, Reigns returned at a great time to jump on the road to the show of shows. After last night’s RAW, WWE seemingly revealed his Mania opponent.
Drew McIntyre snuck up behind Reigns and demolished him before The Big Dog could wrestle his first singles match since his return. It looks like WWE is prolonging Reigns’ return to singles competition because they ignited a new rivalry in the process.
Roman was set to face Baron Corbin on RAW who is a man that he knows well. Rumor was that WWE was considering Baron Corbin as Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent, but that changed after Monday’s show.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that it would appear fans are getting Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania now. This contest will also undoubtedly use the heat created from McIntyre beating down Dean Ambrose after RAW concluded as well.
If you were worried about Roman Reigns, he is okay and his sell-job of McIntyre’s attack was all part of the show. Now we will have to wait and see how much hotter WWE can stoke the fires in this feud as we draw closer to WrestleMania.
