Kurt Angles arrived in his hometown of Pittsburgh PA to deliver a very important announcement. After two decades in the professional wrestling business, WrestleMania 35 will be his final in-ring performance. This was rather shocking news for anyone who didn’t hear Brad Shepard’s report on the subject weeks ago.
Angle took a couple of minutes to give a few words to WWE about his big announcement and who he will face at the grandest stage of them all. Kurt Angle said that at 50-years-old if he can’t perform as he used to then he doesn’t want to perform at all if he can’t wrestle as he did in 2006.
Being in his hometown was a big deal for him. He said “this might be the last TV before I hit WrestleMania,” meaning that he might not wrestle again until the big show on April 7th.
Kurt Angle said that he has to work the hardest he’s ever worked in the next 27 days heading to WrestleMania. He will prepare for this match as “this is my moment,” and he will make it last forever. Angle said that there are a lot of names that he could face at WrestleMania and he named a slew of them including John Cena, AJ Styles, and more.
Only time will tell how WWE books this extremely important match in Kurt Angle’s legendary career, but they are still putting together the card so they have a lot of options.
