It looks like WWE is getting another top indie star, but in reality, Shane Strickland should have been in WWE already. He had an issue with his Lucha Underground contract that prevented him from joining the WWE Performance Center.
During Friday night’s DEFY Wrestling event, Shane Strickland said on the microphone that he just had his last match with the company. He said that he is “moving on to bigger and better things.”
The Defy roster came out and circled the ring to show a big sign of respect for Shane “Swerve” Strickland. Then they played Strickland’s music again as the show concluded.
This is a pretty definite sign that it looks like WWE could be getting Strickland sooner than later. He competed as Killshot under a mask for Lucha Underground which kept him from joining the WWE PC in February, but not it looks like Lucha Underground is finally letting people out of their contracts because there is a high amount of doubt that the show will be returning for another season.
