WWE has a lot of decisions to make as they prepare for a big move to Fox in October. SmackDown Live will be on Friday nights even though FOX said that the current plan is only short term in regards to WWE being on the main network.
It might help WWE if they could bring in a bigger rating and edgier content often does that trick. WWE tried a couple of scandalous segments that did very well online, but they have seemed to drift back to the usual TV-PG format.
WWE’s decision to move to TV-PG was self-imposed. Therefore, they could always go back to TV-14 if they wanted to. With the family-friendly aspect of the programming being so crucial to WWE, it might be a hard transition, but apparently, Fox is pulling for this move as well.
Rajah reports that Fox is “looking for WWE to produce a more edgier product and that they aren’t looking to give into the PC culture that dominates current WWE programming.”
This is very interesting to hear. Fans have clamored for a return to the Attitude Era in some respects when it comes to their stories. WWE might have moved well past bra and panties matches, but you never know what kind of content they could come up with if WWE has a network encouraging them to producer edgy content.
