R-Truth was trying to be like his childhood hero John Cena. So he decided to hold a US Open Challenge. Except each time R-Truth has done this so far (which is once) he ended up with a triple threat. This time he ended up with three challengers.

Samoa Joe came out followed by Andrade and Rey Mysterio. Things were soon looking very tough for R-Truth. Needless to say, this is not what he expected at all.

This match got the crowd to a fever pitch. It included spots for everyone including Carmella and Zelina Vega. If you would like to read the entire results for SmackDown Live, you can check that out here.

In the end, Samoa Joe took over and emerged as the new WWE United States Champion. This marks Samoa Joe’s first single’s title win on the WWE main roster.
