WWE doesn’t want another Dean Ambrose situation. Then again, Dean Ambrose is a very different kind of guy. He turned down a ton of money and five more years with WWE. Now we wonder if he will appear again.
Bryan Alvarez discussed all of the Superstars getting offered bigger deals during Wrestling Observer Live. He said that this is not a new thing because WWE has been at this for weeks.
“It’s not yesterday at SmackDown, it’s been going on for weeks. They’ve been contacting everybody whose deal is up, I don’t know about everybody, but they have been contacting people whose deals are up — not soon — and they’re offering them long-term deals with raises so I mean if you think that AEW means nothing I mean it means a lot to a lot to these people.”
“Some of them are accepting and some of them like Dean Ambrose are not.”
It seems like WWE is trying to lock as many people down as they can. Depending on the contracts, Superstars might be able to entertain different offers when their contracts are running up. Now the company’s idea of someone’s contract running out might not apply to them because they are apparently offering extensions and raises to a lot of people right now.
