Hideo Itami is leaving WWE. He requested his release from the company and it was apparently granted with a 90-day no-compete clause.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE could have done this if he agreed to only work with Japan, however, nothing is official in that regard. A lot led to Hideo Itami’s eventual WWE release request.
What is very well known is the fact that plenty of his co-workers support his decision. Hideo Itami changed his name back to Kenta on social media and that account has received a slew of messages with tons of respect.
Plenty of names from WWE’s roster have sent out words of support for Kenta. Asuka, The IIconics, TJP, and Drake Maverick are just a few of the names who have sent nothing but love and respect to Kenta for making this decision to leave WWE.
Mike Kanellis also sent out his respect which is very interesting considering the fact that he and Maria Kanellis requested their WWE releases weeks ago and they weren’t granted.
