WWE recently brought in few names for backstage roles and you know all of them from their days in the ring. Shane “Hurricane” Helms was one guy that WWE really wanted and he was brought in as a producer due to how well he knows the business, but that’s not all.

Mike Johnson spoke about how much WWE wanted Shane Helms during PW Insider Elite audio. Helms offers way more than great suggestions about how to make matches work too because he also possesses a rare morale-building character which makes him great to be around.

“The one producer especially that I am excited about being there is Shane Helms because when he walked into Impact during that period when Big John was in charge, he came in with a fresh set of eyes and there were always things that would happen because of his impact and he said, ‘Why’s it have to be that way?’ and he brought a different energy backstage and made the matches better and helped the morale of that locker room.”

“You know he was let go in the middle of that Jeff Jarrett take over that didn’t work out and all that other stuff, but he gets the opportunity to do what he did [in Impact] for WWE that will help the morale. It will help the guys and it will be a fresh set of eyes and apparently they were pursuing Helms for months and months dating back to last year about coming in and he finally said, ‘Alright, let’s do it.'”

WWE didn’t make a spur of the moment decision with Hurricane Helms because they really wanted him. Hopefully, he will do very well in WWE. We would like to send our congratulations to Helms.
