Following the revelation that she’ll be taking time off to get elbow surgery, WWE superstar Ember Moon has confirmed that a move she took for Alexa Bliss at the Royal Rumble wasn’t the cause for her injury.
Many fans were considering Moon to be a dark horse in the 30-woman Royal Rumble match at the weekend, with the idea being that she’d go on to challenge Asuka at WrestleMania 35. Alas, that didn’t quite come to fruition, and now she’s going to be on the shelf for a while which could mean she’ll end up missing out on competing at the showcase of the immortals altogether.
For fans who thought Bliss may have been the one to cause the injury, though, we’ve got some bad (or good, depending on your thoughts regarding Bliss) news.
Fans are often quick to jump to conclusions with this sort of thing, especially now that WWE superstars are so easily accessible through social media. Alas, you can probably start to put any theories regarding Bliss & Moon to rest.
Given the current trajectory of the women’s division and how things are shaping up, it seems as if we’ll have quite a few all-female matches on the card at WrestleMania. If Moon had been able to avoid her injury then she likely would’ve either wound up in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match, or perhaps even the Women’s Battle Royal if it ends up returning.
All we can do now is wish her the best in her recovery, as the road to WrestleMania continues.
