Abyss is no longer with Impact Wrestling, however, he won’t be without an employer for long. WWE seems to be The Monster’s destination now and he will reportedly end up on the main roster with Sonjay Dutt eventually as a backstage producer.
The TNA legend is also a very established indie wrestler and works all over. Abyss is scheduled for a match at the Brody Cup in a No DQ Falls Count Anywhere match against the Mecha Mercenary. This event is named after the legendary Bruiser Brody so it is likely to be pretty insane.
In an address to fans, it was said that Abyss will be permitted to compete at this event tonight.
It is a long-standing tradition that WWE lets their new employees finish up indie commitments. Abyss might not be coming into WWE as a wrestler, but he is still in high demand.
It’s unknown whether he is taking any new bookings though.
