The Revival was not happy in WWE so they asked for their release from the company last week. This was first reported by Cassidy Haynes on Bodyslam.net, but it soon took over the Internet Wrestling Community.
WWE denied Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder’s WWE release requests, but they were also given a promise at the same time. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Revival was told that they will become the face of WWE’s tag team division.
Dash Wilder copyrighted #FTR therefore, the team could be known as “Forever The Revival” on the indie scene if they left. Their WWE contracts are not up until April 2020. It was also said that The Revival requesting their WWE releases could lead to a push in the company.
WWE promised their tag teams that they will be getting more of a focus. It is noted that WWE’s decision to concentrate on tag team wrestling is a move to counter All Elite Wrestling’s promise to center around tag team wrestling as well.
The Revival is also reportedly being primed for a babyface turn although it could take some time for that to come around. They are being booked sympathetically and this can be seen in WWE’s recent storyline for the team.
