The Hardy Boyz dropped their Broken gimmick when they entered WWE once again in 2017, but their current contracts are coming to a close. However, there is an option WWE could use to keep Matt and Jeff Hardy around for an additional year and they are very likely to do so.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that WWE is under the impression that they will have the Hardys for another year. They returned at WrestleMania in Orlando after signing a two-year deal with the option to extend into a third.

This is great timing because Matt Hardy recently stated that he is medically greenlit for a WWE return and is in the best shape of his career. He also said that he is the slimmest he’s been in a long time as well. Therefore, it is believed that WWE will execute their option to extend the Hardys’ contracts for an additional year.

You never know if Matt Hardy could be a Royal Rumble surprise because WWE has a few people they could use to pop the crowd.

One thing WWE doesn’t need is The Hardys going to All Elite Wrestling where they would be destined to feud with the Young Bucks once again to reprise their ROH feud that wrapped up the Hardys’ last indie run before returning to WWE.
