WWE has a billion-dollar deal with Fox for SmackDown Live. This means a Friday move is coming in October and will see the blue brand appearing on the Fox Network. This is a big move for WWE and will open them up to a much wider audience, however, there is always room to grow.
FS1 is owned by Fox and they need programming as well. The network previously hosted some UFC programming, but since UFC jumped networks, they need something to air and WWE could be a logical alternative.
Triple H was asked about the possibility of moving NXT to FS1 as part of WWE’s new deal with Fox. He said that the company is currently focusing on the SmackDown Live move coming in October, but there are always talks and a lot of changes.
This shouldn’t be that big of a surprise seeing how WWE is always open for more exposure for their product. Fox losing the UFC opened up some holes in their programming on FS1 and FS2 as well. Therefore, you never know if a deal could eventually be struck to bring NXT to television outside of their usual WWE Network home.
