WWE has a very interesting situation on their hands because they are not the only game in town owned by a billionaire anymore. All Elite Wrestling is looking to fill a roster of talent and they are not alone. This means that there are going to be a lot of very high-dollar contracts being offered very soon.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has made it very clear for certain talent that they are willing to beat any offer that they receive from another company. In fact, they are willing to double the offer if they can show proof that another company is interested.
“WWE has told people if you can show on paper an offer from another company, they’ll beat it, even double it on the spot provided you sign immediately.”
Of course, they didn’t do this with Chris Jericho which is why he went to AEW. It was said that after guys like Cody Rhodes and Juice Robinson left WWE and did so well that the company is avoiding the idea at all costs that talent would want to leave WWE for more money elsewhere.
WWE doesn’t want their Superstars to have an idea that leaving would benefit them. The Revival is a prime example of this and we will have to wait and see how it plays out with them, but Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder asking for their WWE releases might actually help them get a push in WWE.
