WWE has a lot of big announcements coming up soon, it’s certain because they are always announcing new things. Right now WWE has five brands including RAW, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live. However, you never know if five is too much.
Mike Johnson speculated on PW Insider Elite audio that WWE could be prepping fans for another big event coming up soon: the end of the brand split as we know it.
“They announced that the call-ups from the NXT brand would be appearing on both RAW and SmackDown so that fans can see what they’re all about. Maybe I’m adding up 1 and 1 and getting 7, but that plus the Women’s Titles going back and forth between RAW and SmackDown and a couple of SmackDown Live events being cancelled means that the walls that define the brand split are crumbling down, we will see.”
WWE is known for dropping small hints before making a big change, but that doesn’t always happen. Anything is possible as WWE enters a New Era, but with SmackDown Live finding a new television home with Fox in October, a brand split really doesn’t seem very likely. However, you never know what WWE could have in store.
