As seen on Sky Bet, the betting odds for Asuka vs Becky Lynch at the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble in Phoenix, Arizona have been released.

The Empress of Tomorrow has been waiting a long time to capture gold on the main roster, and now, she’s flying high as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Of course, many fans are left to wonder how long it’s going to last, given the overwhelming popularity of her challenger at the Royal Rumble – Becky Lynch.

‘The Man’ has been on the rise for months now, with many fans feeling like WrestleMania 35 could be her crowning moment as a megastar in WWE – in a similar fashion to Stone Cold Steve Austin back in the day.

It’s good that the fans feel that way, then, because the odds suggest her moment of glory isn’t going to come in Phoenix. Asuka is currently the 4/11 favourite to retain her championship, whereas Lynch is a 2/1 underdog.

The odds could fluctuate closer to the time but it doesn’t seem likely, especially seeing as Asuka has only really just begun her reign as champion. One theory that fans have is that Lynch will lose her match against Asuka, before going on to win the 2019 women’s Royal Rumble match.

When she does, the belief is that she’ll end up challenging Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship. If that happens, then there’s a good chance we could see Asuka defending her strap against Charlotte Flair in what would be a rematch from their bout at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans last year.
