Chris Jericho surprised everyone when Fozzy’s “Judas” started playing at the end of All Elite Wrestling’s big Jacksonville rally. The new professional wrestling company is opening up a lot of new doors for the industry and Cody Rhodes said they will change the wrestling economy.
Y2J knows that he is a legend and discussed what kind of impact he was able to make with New Japan Pro Wrestling when he became a part of their company. He is hoping to do the same for AEW as they continue on in his long-term deal as he said on Busted Open Radio.
“It was the piece of the puzzle that they needed at that date and time because what I do is what I did for New Japan last year.”
He didn’t take sole credit for NJPW selling out Madison Square Garden, but his involvement really did pique interest. This is why Jericho made the decision to sign with AEW because he is a legit legend that is still “super relevant.”
Y2J said that when he didn’t sign with WWE it really was a modern-day version of Hulk Hogan signing with WCW at Universal Studios. He said that people will now take AEW a lot more seriously than they did before he was involved. This was all a part of his plan as Chris Jericho continues to prove his influence.
