All Elite Wrestling held a big rally in Jacksonville yesterday where they had a pretty big surprise at the end. Chris Jericho came out and said he’s “ALL IN with All Elite.” This might not have been taken too well within WWE seeing how Y2J was edited out of the WWE opening video package that aired only a few hours later.
There were reports and video proof that staff at WWE’s arena wasn’t letting fans in who were sporting AEW merchandise. This was said to be WWE’s orders.
Later on, WWE apparently changed their minds, but as Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet said, WWE isn’t owning up to these reports at all.
“A rep for WWE claims there was no directive telling security to not allow people in All Elite Wrestling merch to enter the building, despite a video existing of security confirming they weren’t allowing fans in AEW merch to enter.”
This is a very interesting situation and we will continue to keep you updated on any further events. WWE might need to stop thinking of AEW as just another indie wrestling company soon enough, especially with the roster of talent they have.
Only time will tell if this will result in another big television ratings war for professional wrestling fans. WWE is said to be monitoring AEW’s activities, so they might need to keep watching closely.
