All Elite Wrestling had their big rally in Jacksonville not a stone’s throw away from where WWE was holding SmackDown Live later that night. A few fans were said that they had problems getting into SmackDown after the AEW rally because they were sporting The Elite’s merch, then WWE apparently changed their minds (even though they’re not copping to it at all.)
In a very interesting note, when Fightful tried to get some comments about the rally from WWE Superstars, they were hesitant to even give an anonymous statement. Some didn’t want to talk to them at all, although others did open up a bit.
The ones who did comment said it was a good thing for the pro wrestling business to have other options. It will obviously be good for wrestlers and hopefully, fans alike.
While some Superstars were just first hearing about this AEW news, others have been clued in about the company since September. It was said by those who were most clued into the situation that AEW is a legitimate operation and they have an honest shot of making it work.
It doesn’t seem like WWE should be worried as one WWE Superstar said that Impact Wrestling will take the biggest hit in the end. Others said this will help fill the “contract void” left by Lucha Underground.
