WWE already announced a big Raw to kick off 2019. There will be three massive returns with Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena. Of course, Strowman is the only one who is expected to be seen on a weekly basis as a full-timer.
WWE jumped the gun on their in-coming NXT call-ups by announcing them as part of Vince McMahon’s promise of a New Era. We also know who is to be expected on the January 7th episode of Raw as well. However, Bryan Alvarez previously said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the first live Raw of 2019 will be worth tuning into.
“The idea was that all of these names were going to debut, I don’t know if it was after the Royal Rumble or sometime in January so I presume they’ll be up in the first couple of weeks [of 2019]. All I know is that a couple of weeks ago I said that they figured that the first couple of weeks of January were going to be big. Apparently, they still have something big planned for the first live Raw of 2019, so it could be debuts.”
We already know what is going to happen next week on Raw thanks to the fact that WWE already taped the broadcast. You can check out the full spoilers here. We will also keep you updated on any events that they might throw at us during a backstage segment like when AJ Styles decked Vince McMahon during the pre-taped Christmas Day episode of SmackDown Live.
Only time will tell if WWE’s plan will work. They need to do something though because although they do have big television deals in place for October 2019, there is always a chance that USA Network or Fox could alter their plans.
