As seen on Sky Bet, the betting odds for who will become the first women’s Tag Team Champions when the titles are introduced have been released.
Vince McMahon announced that the new belts would be coming to the company next year, although there haven’t been all too many details released since then. Even so, that hasn’t stopped the WWE Universe from speculating as to who might be the first team to hold the belts aloft.
Some people are suggesting that both SmackDown Live and RAW will get their own respective belts, as is the case with the men’s titles, but there’s always a chance that the champions will float between both rosters.
The betting odds suggest that Bayley & Sasha Banks are the current favourites to win the belts with odds of 6/4. The IIconics aren’t all too far behind at 9/2, with the top three being rounded out by The Riott Squad (9/2) who would likely utilise the Freebird rule.
The introduction of tag titles in the women’s division has been long overdue, mainly because there are so many possibilities when it comes to who could capture the straps. Logistically speaking there are probably around 10 teams that either already exist or could be created that would make sense from a storyline perspective, as well as many more given how many women are currently without a storyline.
Many fans have speculated that if Banks and Bayley do indeed win the titles, it could eventually be the catalyst behind one of them finally turning heel on the other.
