Injuries are never fun. Wrestlers are taught from the moment they first step inside a wrestling school or in front of a trainer that the road to success- and even past that contains a lot of speed bumps, which includes injury.
NXT Superstar Dakota Kai first burst onto the WWE scene with the first Mae Young Classic, and her popularity exploded from there. Over the past year, Kai has grown to be one of the most popular Superstars on the female side of the NXT roster and even competed in the tournament to crown the first NXT UK Women’s Champion recently.
Earlier this month, we reported that Kai looked to be injured during an NXT live event at Green Bay, Wisconsin after she legitimately looked to have a knee injury during a 6-woman tag team match.
While the exact injury Kai suffered is unknown, as is the wait time until she returns to in-ring competition, she has returned to her home of New Zealand to spend the holidays with her family. In a new Instagram post, Kai shows off the current status of her injury- revealing she is currently wearing a knee brace.
The comments are most prominently messages of support, with most noticing the knee brace above the rest of the picture itself- which seems to show Kai heading to or from a beach looking rather tanned against the New Zealand heat.
The brace itself may give an indication as to how severe the injury is- though given Kai can walk on her leg without the use of supports, it suggests the recovery process is going well. Stay tuned to Ringside News for any further updates on Kai and her injury.
