Becky Lynch is a Superstar who already cemented herself in history as the first-ever SmackDown Women’s Champion. She is also The Man and the huge wave of support in her direction in recent months is impossible to ignore.
Lynch praised her connection with the WWE audience and how they were always there for her while speaking to the Ariel Helwani Show. “Of course, it’s not the groundswell we have now,” she admitted. Those fans were the reason why she found such success.
Lynch opened up about how she relates to the underdogs out there who might have been in a similar circumstance, but she admitted it’s easy to tell how much she loves pro wrestling as well.
“The thing is what I always wanted and when I set off was to make sure that women wrestling was the coolest thing on TV, right? And that people care about it. When you have someone like Ronda Rousey come in, it brings eyes, it brings attention,” Lynch said was her chance to step up.
“Ronda is doing amazingly well and taken to this like a duck to water. She’s taken to this beyond belief,” Lynch praised, but she hasn’t beaten The Man yet.
Becky Lynch said that she gets beaten all the time and joked that she “got beaten up twice on the way over here,” but none of that punishment is going to stop her.
Lynch admitted that there was some resentment toward Ronda for getting the opportunities right away. She then said it makes things so much sweeter for her because she’s been able to achieve this herself without the company making a big plan of pushing her.
Only time will tell how WWE TLC will turn out, but the match between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka has all the capability to headline the event. After that, Lynch will be on to her next challenge and champion or not, she’s still setting out to make sure that everyone is paying attention to what the women in WWE are doing.
