Jim Ross was the voice of the XFL during the league’s first and only season twenty years ago. He didn’t get paid all that much to do it either.
With the XFL coming back in 2020 and team cities and arenas announced, it looks like the XFL might be running in the right direction this time around. They also have the financial backing to keep them afloat which is a very good thing for them.
WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ WWE contract is up in April 2019. It’s not likely he’ll be re-signing with the company, but you never know what can happen in WWE. They did kind of cost JR a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling though which can’t be something he was cool about.
When Ross was recently asked if he’ll be commentating for the XFL’s revival season, he replied: “Highly unlikely.”
If Good ole JR is no longer with WWE, it might make it pretty hard for him to work for the XFL in 2020. This is especially true if he’s involved in another company in some form or fashion.
