XFL football will see a revival in 2020, but they’re already hitting the ground running like they’re trying to bust through the end zone. There are a lot of big plans for the football league Vince McMahon envisioned this time around, and that includes the players who will be making up the teams.
During McMahon’s initial announcement that a league was coming months ago, he said that the players in the XFL will be squeaky clean. He doesn’t want anybody in the league that could give it a bad reputation. It will be interesting if they stick to this mantra, but we know how many players they’re looking for after today’s press conference.
We know the cities where these teams will play and it was announced today that each team will consist of 45 players with seven players on a practice squad. This is smaller than NFL teams which are made up of 53 players.
Each season in the new XFL will consist of 10 weeks of regular season play followed by a two-week playoff period. After that, a winning team will be determined in some sort of final game still without a proper title. It is also unclear whether or not the winning team will receive $1,000,000 as they did in the first season of the XFL twenty years.
