It’s impossible not to get caught up in the excitement of Becky Lynch’s rise to the top, and now, Conor McGregor appears to want a piece of the pie too.
Conor implied on social media yesterday that he’d be ready to provide the Irish Lasskicker with back-up if she required it, and Lynch was quick to suggest a time in which she’d take him up on that offer – WrestleMania 35.
WWE have been desperate to get Conor to appear at Mania over the course of the last few years, contrary to what they’d probably tell you. It makes sense given that he’s arguably the biggest star in all of sport right now, despite his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
While a one off appearance would likely be the direction that they go in, there’s always the chance that McGregor gets involved in a physical capacity. Some have suggested that he could team up with Becky in a mixed tag match against Ronda Rousey and potentially The Rock, which would almost certainly headline the MetLife Stadium card.
Even if that doesn’t end up being the case it still seems like we’ve got one hell of a few months on our hands, which is exactly what WWE needs.
They’re coming off of a tough period from a PR standpoint and they’re in desperate need of some good news, and Becky Lynch is exactly what the doctor ordered. Who knows, perhaps this will be the catalyst for a more permanent spot in pro wrestling for The Notorious One.
