Why WWE Had Baron Corbin “Shatter” Braun Strowman’s Elbow

Braun Strowman started off Raw by demanding two matches that were coming his way from Stephanie McMahon after Raw’s win at Survivor Series. But what he got in return were more carrots dangled in front of him. For that matter, Baron Corbin also had a deal with the Raw Commissioner, but she made his full-time gig as GM of Raw dependant on him defeating Braun Strowman at TLC.
After a 23-minute elimination tag team match, it was ended by Baron destroying Braun with a chair and with the help of Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre, they destroyed the Monster Among Men. This set up an angle where he had a “shattered elbow” which isn’t his real issue, but Braun will still need elbow surgery and his TLC participation could be up in the air at this point.
PW Insider noted that the reason why Baron Corbin destroyed Braun Strowman was so that it might make it even more believable that the acting Raw GM might have a chance against defeating a guy like Braun Strowman in the gimmick TLC match on December 16th, that is if they can even get Braun back in time.
Only time will tell what happens next in this situation, but Baron Corbin vs Braun Strowman is the plan for TLC and at this point, WWE might need this match to fill out what could be a weak pay-per-view before the Royal Rumble event.
