Batista is a 6-time WWE Champion if you count the two incarnations of the top title that he held during his time with WWE, but he hasn’t come back for a match since 2015. All of that time away might have drawn the Guardians Of The Galaxy star back for another match, presumably against Triple H at WrestleMania. But now that Triple H is injured with a torn pec, that match might not be possible.
The question was asked during Wrestling Observer Radio about whether WWE could book Brock Lesnar vs Batista for WrestleMania in New Jersey. Although you can never say never in WWE, Dave Meltzer was pretty adamant about the fact that Vince McMahon’s view of The Animal might have changed considerably.

“That is not the plan so, I mean could it happen? Eh, sure. I don’t think that Vince wants to do that with Lesnar. I don’t know, I don’t think he sees Batista in that way anymore, you know I mean? There’s guys he sees as legends and obviously, whatever it was Batista was a big star for many, many years. But it just feels like Vince… I don’t know.”
“He did bring him back that one time and he did put him in the main event of WrestleMania against Randy Orton — it was supposed to be the Mania main event and what a miscalculation that was. But yeah let’s put it this way, right now Brock Lesnar and Dave Batista is not a plan.”

Only time will tell what Vince McMahon has up his sleeves, but if Batista is game for a comeback match and McMahon wants him to wrestle at Mania, another opponent might need to be worked on. But don’t hold your breath to see The Animal vs The Beast Incarnate because Lesnar might have other WrestleMania plans already.
Batista will draw money and eyes to any event he works for WWE. Anyone from the Marvel Cinematic Universe would draw mainstream attention. But it doesn’t seem like Vince McMahon views him the way he might need to for whatever reason.
