UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg has had some interesting things to say about long time rival Ronda Rousey in the aftermath of Monday Night RAW last night.
Cyborg, 33, is considered to be the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time, and currently holds a 20-1 (1) record with five of those victories coming in the UFC. She is set to defend her championship at UFC 232 in Las Vegas, where she will take on the dominant Amanda Nunes.
Ironically enough Nunes was the final woman to defeat Rousey before her retirement from MMA, which is a fight that Cyborg always wanted to get. Alas, Ronda never seemed particularly interested in making it happen, which was likely the reason for the following tweet that Cris issued last night.
While this may seem like a shot that has ‘come out of nowhere’ to some, Cyborg has been quite vocal about her desire to transition over into the world of professional wrestling once she’s done fighting inside of the Octagon.
Plus, she was even campaigning for a match against Becky Lynch last year at SummerSlam, which could be even more viable now given that Becky is one of the hottest stars in WWE.
Rousey’s reputation has certainly taken a bit of a battering in the last few days with many fans dragging up things from the past. If nothing else, it’ll be intriguing to see how she bounces back from this given that she has a known reputation for ‘avoiding disappointment’ so to speak.
