WWE Survivor Series featured Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan in a dream match that delivered for a lot of fans. They told a good story in the ring which ended with Brock Lesnar hitting an F5 after nearly tapping out to the Yes Lock as Bryan remained tenacious the entire time.
Rajah reports that the initial plans were for Daniel Bryan to have much more of a speech than looking at Kayla Braxton and saying nothing before walking away.
According to the report, the script originally included Bryan responding to the question of how he’s preparing with such a short turnaround by saying:
“I can understand why you and so many others are calling my victory against AJ Styles ‘shocking,’ seeing as I wasn’t even supposed to face AJ last week, or Brock tonight. But, then again, isn’t that the great thing about life? The fact that on any given day, we all have the opportunity to make history? Just like how I intend to make history again tonight when I defeat ‘The Beast’, Brock Lesnar. It’s like I always say, fight for your dreams, and your dreams will fight for you.”
Braxton was to reply by furthering the interview with another probing question:
“Forgive me, but doesn’t that message seem at odds with how you won the WWE Championship, particularly the low blow behind the referee’s back, followed by a post-match beat-down?”
After Daniel Bryan said: “Now, that is a very good question,” he was to walk away according to the script obtained by Rajah.
While the reasons for this script change remain unclear, if I were a betting man they did might have figured that Lesnar and Bryan were going to say plenty in the ring with their scheduled match.
