Interesting New WWE Signee Could Impact Independent Scene

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE has hired Giancarlo Dittamo as a member of the production team. While to many the name Dittamo may not sound familiar, he has had a lasting impact on the independent scene.
Dittamo has worked for multiple promotions in the Northeast. Some of these promotions include Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and CZW- the latter of which also saw him work as the top writer for a period of time.
One of the biggest accomplishments for Dittamo has been his involvement with independent standout Joey Janela, who is currently out with a rather severe injury. He helped turn Janela into a star and develop the “Bad Boy” persona that Janela uses.
As PWInsider confirm, Dittamo actually started working for WWE a few weeks back. He was present at the recent WWE tryout in Germany. Through this, it seems Dittamo is being taken seriously as a major player in the future of WWE production.
This is a massive blow to the independent circuit, as his mind was one of the most notable acquisitions to the indies for years. Had it not been for Dittamo, Janela and the “Joey Janela’s Sprink Break” events- among many other shows and stories would have never taken place. The Northeast has a lot to thank Dittamo for, and it now seems the man is ready to move on to the next stage of his career.
