WWE Survivor Series might have been snakebit this year in a manner of speaking. Roman Reigns wasn’t supposed to be out of action when WWE first laid out the plans and the theme was reportedly not brand vs brand. But Roman’s absence caused WWE to change around all sorts of things.
Then once fans got excited for the card, the most noteworthy match was changed around once again when Becky Lynch wasn’t cleared to compete after suffering a fractured face and a severe concussion. This change likely caused WWE to change things up even more and switch the WWE Championship over to Daniel Bryan to create a new match fans haven’t seen before in Lesnar vs Bryan.
Lynch got to pick her replacement in Charlotte Flair, but it doesn’t seem like they filled her previous spot at this point. There was some doubt she would participate in the match to begin with seeing how she initially rejected the idea of being the team’s captain.
Now the Women’s Classic Survivor Series Elimination match will consist of Mickie James, Natalya, Ruby Riott, Tamina Snuka, Nia Jax with Alexa Bliss as their non-wrestling captain vs Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, and a yet to be named replacement for Charlotte Flair.
It will be interesting to see who WWE picks to sill this spot. But it could be a great opportunity for a surprise at Survivor Series.
