Ronda Rousey was all set to face Becky Lynch at Survivor Series this Sunday but then a stray elbow thanks to Nia Jax put Lynch out of action. Now Rousey is facing Charlotte Flair which is a match WWE had planned to do, but it was going to be at WrestleMania instead.
Now Rousey will face her first match on a WWE pay-per-view with zero build, but that applies for both behind the scenes and in the ring.
It was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rousey is going into Survivor Series with a very small amount of preparation because her matches are usually rehearsed well in advance. Rousey worked for months on her WrestleMania debut match and practiced with Nikki Bella for weeks before their match at WWE Evolution.
If Rousey is going to be against anyone in this kind of situation, at least it will be with Charlotte Flair who has the veteran mind of a 2nd Generation Superstar. Now it looks like they will have to call it in the ring to a certain extent although Meltzer did mention that they would likely have rehearsal time in the upcoming days. Needless to say, Charlotte Flair probably had to clear her calendar at the last minute.
It would have still been nice to see what Rousey and Lynch were planning, now it looks like we’ll have to wait even longer to see that dream match go down.
