Last night during SmackDown Live, it was revealed by Becky Lynch that Charlotte Flair would act as her replacement to face RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey following an injury she sustained during RAW earlier this week.
As we previously reported, this match change has led to the SmackDown Live team for the traditional women’s Survivor Series 5-on-5 match. At this time, SmackDown is down one team member, and given the small female rosters from both brands, there aren’t a lot of replacements.
RAW will be led by Alexa Bliss, who will remain at ringside for the match but will not be involved. Her team includes Mickie James, Nia Jax, Tamina, Natalya, and Ruby Riott. On the SmackDown side, Carmella, Naomi, Asuka, and Sonya Deville are confirmed to participate. This leaves one open spot.
With the rosters in mind, it is likely that one of two female Superstars will join team SmackDown by, or perhaps at the Survivor Series PPV. The first option is Nikki Cross, though it is unclear if she has been entirely promoted to the main roster just yet. The second is, of course, Mandy Rose. Her partner in Deville was picked for the team, but she wasn’t. Now that Flair is out, this could be her chance to join in.
The only other two Superstars that could compete are The IIconics, but given that they are generally seen as a two-person team, it is unlikely WWE will include Billie Kay or Peyton Royce and not the other competitor.
WWE has yet to officially confirm who will replace Flair in the match- though it is likely to be Cross or Rose.
