Lawler is joined on today’s show by his co-host Glenn Moore.
Lawler talks about his experience on the Chris Jericho Cruise. He informs that he had a terrific time and although the fans had a lot of energy and enthusiasm, they were all very well behaved. He notes that there wasn’t a lot of privacy for the wrestlers because those fans paid good money to be on a cruise with their favourite wrestlers, so he didn’t want to turn down any picture or autograph requests. However, all the fans were very respectful which was nice.

Lawler informs that Jericho was so busy during the entire cruise but his energy never wavered, even after taking a guitar in the face during one musical performance that required stitches.
Lawler talks about the return of Hulk Hogan at last weekend’s Crown Jewel event. Lawler says that Hogan has been without a doubt the most important wrestler to the business’ success over the years and he was glad to see him return at Crown Jewel. He’s known Hogan for a long time, and in his opinion Hogan’s a good person. Some of the things that have been said about Hogan over the last couple of years simply aren’t true according to Lawler.

He points out that much of the criticism surrounding Crown Jewel was overblown as well. He thinks it has a lot to do with “political correctness gone wild”, and with social media nowadays everyone has a voice and can voice their displeasure even when they don’t have the details to make informed opinions on these topics.
Moore points out that all the criticism has glossed over the fact that Renee Young made history by working as part of the announce team in Saudi Arabia. He thinks Young deserves a lot of credit for being there, and WWE also deserves credit for negotiating with officials in Saudi Arabia to make that happen.

Lawler thinks that’s a great point, and notes that WWE’s involvement in Saudi Arabia can eventually lead to some change in their culture in regards to the way women are viewed and treated there. He notes that Saudi Arabia’s culture is very different than ours and things aren’t going to change over night, but if we stay away altogether nothing is ever going to change.
Lawler mentions that Triple H torn his pectoral muscle early in the main event bout against the Brothers of Destruction. Triple H showed extreme toughness by finishing the match, and Lawler points out that this is the old school mentality that wrestlers like he and Triple H believe in.

Lawler informs that he separated his shoulder at an indie show recently in front of 700 people. The injury occurred in the first move of the match, and he went on to work another 15 minutes and finish the match. The thought of stopping a match due to that sort of injury never enters the mind of an old school wrestler. Lawler tips his crown to Triple H for finishing that match.
There has been some speculation that Triple H won’t be able to wrestle at WrestleMania now, after having surgery that usually requires 6 months to heal. WrestleMania is roughly 5 months away, but Lawler thinks Triple H can make it back in time. He’s a tough guy who rehabs and works out as hard as anyone. Lawler is willing to bet right now that we’ll see Triple H at WrestleMania.

Lawler informs that he’s going to be at Survivor Series on Nov 18th. He’s looking forward to that PPV which will feature a number of RAW vs. Smackdown matches.
That sums up today’s episode of Dinner With the King. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
