Matt Hardy captured the pro wrestling world’s interest as Broken Matt Hardy became the hottest thing in the indies and on Impact Wrestling which concluded with an Expedition Of Gold running into their WWE return at WrestleMania 33. But their slow turn to Woken status eventually took place on WWE television after Anthem let go of their gimmick.
The Hardys had a Halloween special and many fans saw it as wonderful — apparently, WWE Network agreed because as reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “House Hardy” will become a regular WWE Network series.
So if you didn’t see the pilot for the House Hardy, you might want to check it out to catch up on the storyline so far — it’s quite interesting. Now fans can get even more of the Woken/Broken Universe on WWE Network where they might not only have more creative control but they will certainly get plenty more time.
It was noted that the Woken gimmicks won’t be used on WWE television — “although it may come back at some point.” So Jeff Hardy is also going to be a regular on this new series, but won’t be Brother Nero on TV. It’s kind of like a Bruce Banner/ Incredible Hulk situation with the Woken Universe where he could be himself and then suddenly transform into the gimmick after something triggers him. Only time will tell.
