With WWE seemingly nearing the end of it’s run with the ‘first-ever’ tag attached to the women, many fans have noticed that the company is teasing the addition of Women’s Tag Team Championships- likely for both RAW and SmackDown Live.
We’ve reported in the past that WWE has handed out signs at past episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live that have a message promoting the idea of fans wanting the Tag Team Championships.
Additionally, Stephanie McMahon and other WWE Superstars such as Sasha Banks and Naomi have been open in commenting on the possibility of such Championships. The latest Superstar, in fact, to do this was Bayley.
Many expected that McMahon would announce the Tag Team Championships at Evolution- given the significance of the event in combination with the teasing McMahon and other Superstars had done in the lead-up to the show. As we now know, she did not reveal anything. Rather, she was backstage helping her father run gorilla position.
According to @VitoLiranzo on Twitter, he and others had been handed more of the signs created by WWE promoting Women’s Tag Team Championships. This actually took place at Evolution itself, despite the lack of an announcement.
Given that WWE is going to great lengths to continue promoting the idea of Women’s Tag Team Championships, it is likely that it is now only a matter of time until McMahon announces the new Championships. It is seemingly no longer a question of ‘if’ but rather ‘when’ will WWE confirm the new Championships.
Who should be the first Champions on each brand? If WWE were to call Superstars up to the main roster, which teams would you like to see? Let us know your thoughts, opinions, and reactions in those comments below.
