WWE Crown Jewel is a very controversial event and nobody likes getting heat off of heat more than Vince McMahon. The Universal Championship match for the big Saudi Arabia show had to be switched around after Roman Reigns’ hiatus and now it is Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Title. But some people are wondering if it will really go down in KSA, after all, some fans are upset at the fact that they country will see a title change live.
Dave Meltzer addressed the idea during Wrestling Observer Radio of ending the Universal Championship match in a way that will leave the door open for a continued program for Brock Lesnar. But we might be more likely to see a cut-and-dry finish in Saudi Arabia instead due to Lesnar’s current status.
“They’re not going to do a screw-job finish because either Lesnar is going to win or he’s gone one or the other. I mean it’s like they’re not going to do some draw or anything like that.”
So we can expect there to be a new Universal Champion at WWE Crown Jewel. After all, Brock Lesnar is very expensive and nobody knows at this point what his current WWE commitments are past November 2nd — or if he even has anything planned.
Lesnar very well could leave Crown Jewel after putting Braun Strowman over so he can continue his MMA training for an eventual UFC return. But you really never know what could happen in WWE, especially at a time like this when they’re obviously reconfiguring some major pieces after Reigns’ departure.
