Alexa Bliss was scheduled for a dream match at WWE Evolution as she was promoted to face Trish Stratus in a singles match. That singles match was turned into a tag team encounter — but now Bliss might be injured.
We previously reported that there was a report that Bliss was injured and as Dave Meltzer addressed it on Wrestling Observer Radio, he brought light to the fact that Alicia Fox’s interaction and backstage brawl with Trish and Lita that ended in them saying, “That’s how we do it in the Attitude Era” might be opening the door for a switch-up in that heavily promoted tag team contest.
“Alexa Bliss, I believe she suffered a concussion on Saturday night at Hartford. She was not on the TV tonight. She was still advertised for Sunday for the women’s Evolution show and they were hoping she would be ready but a concussion is a concussion. There’s no way of predicting when she’ll be passing Impact testing.”
“So if you watched television I think it’s pretty clear that Alicia Fox will be replacing her if she can’t go. But they’re still advertising her.”
You can never predict an injury and apparently, Bliss’ tag team match against Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax didn’t turn out the way she would have liked in Hartford. Hopefully, she will be able to heal up and make the Evolution show so she can work the match against Trish Stratus and Lita, but WWE needs to air on the side of caution in this situation, especially when a concussion is involved.
