According to PWInsider, WWE Hall of Famer Ivory has been confirmed for WWE Evolution in addition to Molly Holly.
The 56 year old, who was inducted into the Hall earlier this year during WrestleMania 34 weekend, has made only a few sporadic appearances on WWE television over the course of the last few years.
Her role at the show has yet to be confirmed, although it’s likely that she could feature in some kind of tribute segment where WWE recognises the women who have paved the way for the superstars of today.
The majority of other legends who will appear on the Evolution card will be featured in matches, whether it be in tag team action or the scheduled Battle Royal. There’s every chance Ivory could compete but it seems more likely that it’d be in the Battle Royal if anything, given that they probably want to stack that match with as many big names as they possibly can – much like the women’s Royal Rumble.
Ivory was always a severely underrated performer so it’s nice to see that she’ll be appearing in one way or another, even though there are still concerns over whether or not WWE can pull off Evolution as a successful show.
Regardless of that, though, it’s still an important step forward for women’s wrestling, even if Crown Jewel is casting a shadow over it. Perhaps a trip down memory lane with the likes of Ivory and many other legends will help to gloss over that, if only for a night.
