According to PWInsider, a series of NXT superstars are set to appear at the upcoming WWE Evolution pay per view.
Evolution is set to be a revolutionary event in more ways than one, as it serves as the first all-female WWE show in history. We already know that legends such as Lita and Trish Stratus will be returning to take on Mickie James and Alexa Bliss, but in addition to the past and the present competing, it appears as if we could see the future being represented too.
The report suggests that Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Jessamyn Duke, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai and Marina Shafir will all be popping up at the show.
While many optimistic fans will likely be jumping straight to ‘NXT taking over’ storylines, there are plenty of reasons why they could be appearing. Whatever happens, it’s nice to know that WWE are thinking about the stars of tomorrow as well as the stars of today and yesterday.
The Long Island event is billed to feature over 50 females, which could open the door for some kind of Battle Royal type match. We’ve seen this kind of thing before at WrestleMania, and it’d make sense as an avenue to get more people on the card.
Hopefully they attach some kind of stakes to it because while Battle Royals can be fun, there’s nothing worse than a match where you know that the outcome doesn’t mean all that much in the grand scheme of things. Either way, we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
