205 Live could be the best pro wrestling show you’re not watching on the WWE Network. It’s new timeslot has given a chance for spoilers too because they tape the day before so that’s also a knock against it. But the guys on 205 Live give it their all in the ring and really do deserve a much larger spotlight.
Mustafa Ali isn’t just one of the nicest WWE Superstars around, but he is also currently in a feud with Hideo Itami. Mike Johnson noted on PW Insider Elite audio update that we could be expecting a pretty cool gimmick match along the way for this cruiserweight rivalry. A big match in the feud recently ended in a double count out, but that could always be building toward something bigger.
“I thought this was a great showcase for both of them. I know from emails I received fans were not happy about the double count out finish. But I didn’t mind it because the entire idea was these guys had tried so hard to take the other out they had basically physically wiped each other out and they were exhausted and the had nothing left in the tank.”
“To me, while I do prefer a good clean finish above all else the TV show story is meat to build toward something grander and meant to build toward something bigger which obviously watching this I felt that they are building to a last man standing match. That’s the only way it makes sense to me, I thought it was perfect for that story.”
WWE has their choice to book any number of ways. But it seems like we could be looking forward to a pretty big match on 205 Live that would be worth turning in to see even if you haven’t given them a shot in a long time. After all, this isn’t the same division that Enzo Amore used to be the face of.
