Former WWE superstar Enzo Amore seems to have indicated on social media that he’s still the rightful Cruiserweight Champion, one year on from the beatdown he suffered from the entire division – as well as Braun Strowman.
Enzo is the definition of a controversial figure in professional wrestling, even dating back to the sexual assault incident which got him released back in January. His presence on WWE television always seemed to rub people the wrong way, and yet when he moved to 205 Live, that seemed like a good move for him.
That is, until he actually won the championship from Neville. At that point, it was clear to see that the fans weren’t happy, which seems bizarre when you look back given how popular he was alongside Cass and Carmella in NXT.
Yet despite all of that Enzo, who deems himself to be the ‘Real 1’ hinted that he is ‘still’ the Cruiserweight Champion, referring to the fact that he never lost the belt.
Amore doesn’t appear to have any real interest in returning to professional wrestling and even said as much in a recent interview with TMZ Sports, but it’s certainly interesting to note that this is his thought process even after all this time.
A lot of fans wouldn’t want to see Enzo come back, but perhaps under the right circumstances, it could become a reality one day. After all, we’ve seen stranger things happen on WWE television, so the Realest Guy In The Room popping back up wouldn’t be too shocking.
