Last Smackdown, Aiden English shocked the world by first being a dumbass and costing Rusev his United States Championship match. He then shocked the world again by ambushing hi friend and hitting him with a microphone. Ouch.
It seems that Rusev Day is no more, unless WWE pulls a :Sasha Banks and Bayley and sends both men to counseling, But we can assume for the time being that these two men will lock horns and just battle it out for the right to have a holiday.
Everyone has a general idea of the potential career trajectory of Rusev, but what about Aiden English? What will the Artiste be up to in the coming months?

a feud with rusev

I mean, duh. Aiden English literally ambushed his friend after a match. You don’t just forget that sort of thing (again, unless you’re Sasha Banks and Bayley). This is pro wrestling. If someone even so much as looks at you the wrong way, you challenge them to a match.
While it’s hard to say who makes PPV cards nowadays, it’s not hard to imagine these two men being given time on a PPV card. Perhaps over the next few months, these two men will tear it up on TV and on PPV.
Both men are charismatic promos, so the mic work will be solid at worst. In ring, both men are capable workers, so again, matches will be solid at worst, unless the booking is absolutely horrendous.
When all is said and done, I fully expect Rusev to walk away with the victory and move on to bigger and better things. But where does that leave good old Aiden English? It’s not an understatement to say that Rusev Day has been the highlight of his career. It’s all he’s got.
Where does he go from here?

aiden english: united states champion?

I’ve written before about how Aiden English was  a potential future champion in WWE. He has the mic skills, he bumps like a madman, and he’s still a young guy. Barring any unfortunate injuries, he has all the time in the world to rise to the top.
After it’s time for Shinsuke Nakamura to drop the United States Championship, Aiden English would be a great next choice. Either he beats Nakamura himself (which would be odd, I guess), or he beats the guy who beats Nakamura.
Given the lack of credible singles babyfaces on Smackdown’s roster, English wouldn’t be the worst person to somehow take the title off Nakamura. Maybe he wins it in a triple threat, like how Curtis Axel took Wade Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship back in 2013.
English just singing about how he is the greatest United States Champion of all time would be something worth watching, if only to see his ass kicked.

aiden english: WWE Champion?

This is a long shot, I know. But still, Aiden English is my boy. I’ve been rooting for him since I saw the Vaudevillains. I can’t really explain why.
If Aiden English ever became WWE Champion, it would definitely be one of the biggest surprises ever. But ever since Jinder Mahal became WWE Champion (and I’m sorry I brought it up), we can never really say never anymore.  Give it time, and if all goes well, English could definitely become WWE Champion. If and when he does, you saw it here first. I called it.
While English would probably stick out like a sore thumb when you look at the list of men who have held the WWE Championship, it would definitely be something different. But maybe something different could be good.
