EXCLUSIVE: WWE Considering Dream Match For Rey Mysterio Return

Rey Mysterio has been working the indies and making a substantial amount of money in the process. But he’s also worked 2 Royal Rumbles this year for WWE along with All In and competing in NJPW.
But it seems with his recent signing of a 2-year contract that WWE has Mysterio locked down and they need to use him soon. After all, there seems to be a ticking clock at this point because Mysterio made sure he has the choice to opt out of his new WWE deal at the 18-month mark if he decides not to re-sign.
Our sources have told us that WWE is kicking around a very interesting idea for Rey Mysterio’s return that would see him wrestle his first match back with the company during the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. He did appear at the Greatest Royal Rumble so this would be a well-received return if it goes down.
The extremely interesting part is that we’ve heard Shinsuke Nakamura’s name being kicked around as his possible opponent. This is even more curious seeing how Nakamura is still the current US Champion. At this time there is no word on whether it will be for Shinsuke Nakamura’s title if the match goes down, but this dream match is said to be an option if WWE decides to use Mysterio in Saudi Arabia.
